Conditions of Hire

Bayswater Women’s Workshop — Conditions of Hire

These conditions apply to all hire of spaces at the Bayswater Women’s Workshop, 90 Central Avenue, Maylands – Shearn Park. By submitting this form, you agree to the following:

  1. Eligibility. The workshop supports women and women-led activities. Priority is given to hirers whose activities align with this mission. The committee reserves the right to decline hire requests that are not in keeping with the spirit of the space.
  2. Confirmation. A hire is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from the workshop committee. Submitting this form does not guarantee a booking.
  3. Care of the space. Hirers are responsible for leaving all areas — including the workshop, meeting room, kitchen, and amenities — clean, tidy, and in the same condition as found. Any damage must be reported immediately.
  4. Equipment. Workshop equipment and tools must be used responsibly and only by those competent to do so. Hirers accept responsibility for any damage caused through misuse.
  5. Safety. Hirers must comply with all relevant health and safety requirements. Emergency exits must remain clear at all times. First aid kits are located in the workshop and kitchen.
  6. Numbers. Attendance must not exceed the agreed number of participants. Overcrowding is a safety risk and may result in cancellation of the hire.
  7. Noise & neighbours. Hirers are asked to be mindful of neighbours and other users of Shearn Park. Noise must be kept to a reasonable level, particularly during evenings.
  8. Cancellations. Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel. Repeat late cancellations may affect future hire approvals.
  9. Insurance. Hirers are encouraged to hold their own public liability insurance for events or group activities. The workshop does not cover personal injury or loss of hirer’s property.
  10. Fees. Hire fees (where applicable) must be paid prior to the hire date as agreed with the workshop coordinator.
  11. Children. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Access to workshop equipment by minors must be pre-approved.
  12. Respect. All hirers and their guests are expected to treat the space, equipment, and other members of the community with respect. Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

A copy of these conditions will be included with your booking confirmation. If you have any questions, please contact the workshop committee before submitting.

You must agree to the Conditions of Hire to proceed.
Please confirm the accuracy of your information.
